A Stately Georgian Manor,
Crafted by Royal Architecture,
Dedicated to Devoted Care.
Stewton House was never conceived as an institutional health facility. For over two centuries, it has stood as a peaceful English sanctuary of oak timber, soaring ceilings, and open parkland skies. When our doors opened to eldercare in 1952, that same domestic warmth became our lifelong covenant.

Sir Charles Allom & The 1927 Rebuilding
The majestic grandeur of Stewton House is owed to one of early 20th-century Britain’s most celebrated decorators and architects.

Sir Charles Carrick Allom (1865–1947)
Founder of White, Allom & Co. · Knighted in 1913 following his celebrated redecoration of Buckingham Palace · Architect of the 1927 Stewton House rebuilding.

The 1927 Architectural Master Blueprint
White, Allom & Co. London blueprints showcasing the twin semicircular bay window salons, sweeping verandahs, and soaring oak halls.
From Buckingham Palace to the Lincolnshire Wolds
Sir Charles Carrick Allom was an internationally revered decorator and architect. Following his crowning work refurbishing Buckingham Palace for King George V, for which he received his knighthood in 1913, Allom’s design firm, White, Allom & Co., became the foremost exponent of English classical craftsmanship and historic timber detailing.
In 1927, Stewton House underwent a comprehensive rebuilding under Sir Charles Allom’s personal direction for the Sutcliffe family. Rather than utilitarian brickwork, Allom imbued the manor with the stately refinement of an English country manor:
Hand-Carved Oak Paneling
The grand hall and ballroom feature original hand-carved oak timber walls, classical cornicing, and magnificent stone fireplaces.
Curved Bay Salons & Loggias
Designed with curved south-facing bay windows to capture maximum daylight and frame tranquil views over the 4-acre gardens.
Private Parkland Verandahs
Sheltered garden loggias and stone terraces enabling residents to sit outdoors in fresh country air even during brisk weather.
Domestic Warmth vs Clinic
A layout built for quiet contemplation, grand family gatherings, and everyday comfort rather than sterile clinical corridors.
"Architecture must create a sanctuary of emotional reassurance and domestic warmth, where craftsmanship uplifts every passing hour."
